Audit

Audits, Reviews and Compilations

Financial statement audits, single audits, reviews and compilations for nonprofits and companies, with a clear fee and an agreed timetable.

How It Works

How an engagement runs

  1. 1

    Proposal

We scope the work from last year's report, your circumstances and your deadline, and send a proposal with a clear fee and timetable your board can compare.

  2. 2

    Onboarding

You get a document checklist and an agreed timetable. If you are switching from another firm, we handle the handover with them.

  3. 3

    Fieldwork

We test the numbers against your records and come back to you with specific questions, not open-ended requests.

  4. 4

    Report

You receive the audited financial statements with our opinion, and a letter on anything the board or management should know.

Returns for the organizations we audit

If you want, we also prepare and file your annual return from the audited numbers, so the return and the financial statements agree.

FAQ

Questions We Hear Most

What is the difference between an audit, a review and a compilation?

An audit gives reasonable assurance and ends in our opinion on your financial statements. A review gives limited assurance, built mostly on inquiry and analytical procedures. A compilation presents your financial statements in proper form, with no assurance.

Do we need an audit?

It depends on your funders, lenders, state rules and federal awards. Send us your agreements and last year's statements, and we will tell you what applies before we propose anything.

We already have an auditor. What does switching involve?

We take care of the handover. We contact your previous auditor, agree a timetable with you and send a checklist of what we need.

How is the fee set?

We scope the work from last year's report, your circumstances and your deadline, and the proposal states the fee before any work starts.
